Disability
If you become disabled you may be able to receive a disability pension from PDN. That is a benefit in addition to the state benefit. Until a few years ago, state benefit was governed by the Disability Act [Wet op de Arbeidsongeschiktheid] (WAO). In 2006 this was superseded by the Work according to Labor Capacity Act [Wet Werk en Inkomen naar Arbeidsvermogen] (WIA).
If you are disabled you may in some cases continue to accrue old age pension with PDN even after your dismissal. You can find out how this all works in the brochure “Disability pension” on the right-hand side of the screen. If you want to know precisely what the PDN rules on disability are, look at the PDN regulations. If that doesn’t answer your questions, send an e-mail to the PDN Pension Desk by clicking on “Ask a Question”.
