Disabled (and no longer working at DSM)

The PDN disability scheme consists of:

  • Contribution-free continuous pension accrual
This means that you continue to accrue old age pension until your retirement. You also continue to accrue partner’s pension.

  • Disability pension
This is a supplement to your income up to retirement, so you receive it in addition to your state disability benefit.

You may be eligible for both if you are a member of PDN and become disabled, if you are made redundant by DSM and are receiving a state disability benefit from the Social Security Benefits Administration [UWV]. To receive the disability pension, you must fulfill all the conditions specified in the pension regulations that apply when payment of the benefit begins.

  • There are many different schemes for pension and disability at DSM, which won’t be found on this website. PDN writes to disabled employees in person to inform them about their situation. You can contact the PDN Pension Desk if you have any questions. You’ll find the contact details under ‘Contact’ in the column on the right.

Important to know:

  • Changes to the percentage of disability often affect both continued accrual and the disability pension. You are obliged to notify PDN of these changes.
  • There’s a lot of information on this website that applies to people receiving a disability pension. If in doubt, contact the PDN Pension Desk.
  • You’ll find the brochure ‘Disability’ on this website (under Employees >> Employment Changes >> Disabled), which gives more information about continued pension accrual if you are disabled and the disability pension.
